Mari Tuttle has always had a passion for food. It began when she was a little girl, watching her Mom create new recipes for her family to enjoy. The food was always delicious, but it was her Mom's passion for the visual aspects of food that stood out for Mari. - Her food was simply beautiful.
Her Mom's talent for food styling initially lead Mari to pursue a career in product design, studying at New York's Parsons School of Design. After graduation, Mari went to work for Smart Design. While there, she served as a panelist at the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum's symposium on Japanese food packaging and designed numerous award winning products, some of which are now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Eventually, Mari's passion for food resurfaced. Leaving Smart Design, she went to work at Balthazar Bakery in New York City. While there, she learned the art of French pastry, and eventually became Balthazar's Director of Bakery Operations.
After Balthazar, Mari returned once again to product design, becoming Design Director for fashion designer Cynthia Rowley’s home line at Target.
Today, Mari's passions for both design and food are united at Mari's New York where she creates luxuriously rich, artisanal fudgy brownies packaged in her beautiful, signature baton boxes. Mari's brownies are a gift to be savored, whether shared or hoarded. We think they are "Simply Marivelous" and we hope you do too.
